The Potato Union (the information partner of which is the Potato System magazine) is systematically working to defend the interests of agricultural producers and establish their relationships with trade networks.
This season, difficult weather conditions were noted in a number of Russian regions, which could not but affect the harvest. Many agricultural producers state that potatoes with a smaller fraction than usual (less than 55 mm) prevail in the total harvest on their farms. Thus, a significant volume of grown products does not meet the previously accepted standards of retail chains, which threatens to disrupt supply volumes and losses for both parties.
The Potato Union has already asked retailers to reconsider the requirements for the size of potatoes. But the exact parameters of the new standard have not yet been determined. To get the majority opinion, you need to reach as many market participants as possible.
