The head of the Lipetsk Region Administration Igor Artamonov on June 3, at the site of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, signed an agreement with LVM RUS to expand production. The production capacity of the existing enterprise on the territory of the Lipetsk SEZ is planned to be doubled.
The investment will amount to more than 13 billion rubles, the expansion of production will create 250 additional jobs.
“We are glad that such an enterprise with a high production culture and social responsibility is expanding its activities in the Lipetsk region. For a long time we have been striving for the construction of the second stage of the plant. We created the conditions, the investor made a decision, ”said Igor Artamonov.
The new line is designed to serve the growing market of Russia and the CIS countries. All potatoes will be purchased from local farmers with the full agronomic support of the company.
“The French fries market is growing all over the world, Russia is a priority for us. The Lipetsk region is very important for us, it has great potential, well-developed infrastructure, so we chose it for the construction of the plant. We plan to continue our cooperation, ”said Mark Schroeder, General Director of Lamb Weston Meijer, the main shareholder of LVM RUS LLC.
Construction of the second production line will begin this year. Commissioning is scheduled for early 2023.
