Almost all of Europe’s major fruit and vegetable events scheduled for spring 2020 have been canceled or rescheduled due to the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
According to EastFruit, the dates for the Global Berry Congress, held by Fruitnet in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, have been moved from late March to late June. However, it is still difficult to guarantee that this event can be held on new dates.
A little earlier, the Macfruit exhibition held in Rimini, Italy was postponed to the beginning of September. Greek Freskon exhibition canceled. The organizers said that it will take place next year. A number of events have been canceled in Germany and other countries.
EastFruit was also forced to cancel two fruit and vegetable conferences in Tajikistan, despite the fact that there are no cases of virus infection in the country. Given the announced quarantine in Ukraine, fruit and vegetable events will not be held in the coming weeks in this country either.
If the situation improves by the summer, then in the fall a calendar of events dedicated to the markets of vegetables, fruits, berries, nuts, etc. may be overly saturated.
