From 2006 to 2016, the sown area of potatoes in Russia decreased by 32,6%. Such preliminary data from the agricultural census are provided by Rosstat.
Also during this period, planting of fodder crops, vegetables and melons decreased. At the same time, crops of industrial crops grew 1,5 times, and grain and leguminous crops - by 8,5%. In general, sown areas increased by 6%.
Over the past decade, the number of cattle in farms of all categories has decreased by 18%. In other categories of animal husbandry, experts noted an increase. The number of poultry grew by 42% in all categories of farms, except for personal subsidiary plots and non-profit associations of citizens.
The number of pigs increased by more than a third due to a 2,4-fold increase in their number in agricultural organizations. The number of sheep and goats increased by 21%.
