According to the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Leonid Marinich, in some regions of Belarus on weekends there were frosts up to 2-4 degrees. Because of this, early potatoes, which were grown in low places, practically died. In addition, Marinich added that spring crops were also affected by frosts, Sputnik reports.
According to experts, the consequences of frost can be avoided by observing farming technologies. The Ministry of Agriculture has distributed recommendations on how to respond to the low temperatures of this spring, excess moisture and other climate features.
Recall that the end of April and the beginning of May were atypically cold for Belarus. As a result, the flowering of fruit trees and shrubs began later than usual. Currants, blueberries and fruit trees suffered the most from cold weather.
