A "thunderstorm" of potatoes, eggplants and tomatoes almost hit the peninsula. In the luggage of citizens passing the border, an infected root crop was found, and in large quantities - 13 kilograms.
The moth Phtorimaea operculella (Zeller) settled on potatoes transported from Ukraine to Crimea. Pests are a serious threat to crops, and therefore, compliance with the necessary standards is treated with special attention.
In total, in 2017, the customs office unrolled eleven tons of regulated luggage. Prohibited products included nuts, dried fruits and planting material, and in very large quantities.
