On November 15, the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia hosted the awarding ceremony for the winners of the second National Competition for Regional Food Brands "Tastes of Russia". This is an important event for the industry.
Among hundreds of participants, the 24 best brands in eight nominations were determined by an expert commission, as well as residents of the country during a popular vote on the Internet.
This project allows to increase interest in local products, make them recognizable and create conditions for the further development of brands. Identifying new regional brands and promoting them through a competition is the most important part of fulfilling the instructions of the President of Russia.
The competition solves a number of problems: increasing the volume of food production by small enterprises and farms, creating new jobs, developing the export potential of regions, popularizing Russian brands.
Last year, about 500 brands from 79 regions of Russia took part in the competition. A set of promotion measures was implemented for the winners. This year there are already 720 brands, almost all subjects took part.
Winning the competition for manufacturers serves as an additional incentive to expand production, enter the federal market, and search for new distribution channels.
