In June, in Vladivostok, potatoes rose in price. In markets, the cost of a kilogram reaches 200 rubles. This, according to sellers, is associated with a reduction in supplies from China.
Due to problems with the passage of heavy trucks on the border with China in Primorye, the supply of potatoes decreased. Small shops and large chains are forced to seek a replacement for Chinese vegetables. Potatoes are brought from the central part of Russia, Azerbaijan and Egypt. Shipping costs and the high price of wholesalers are ultimately reflected in the final cost to the buyer. The most expensive potato is young, seaside. According to one version, because of the closed borders, the Chinese workers were unable to return to the fields in Primorye, so a shortage of local potatoes is also possible by autumn.
Now in "Remy" potatoes are sold at 52,99 rubles per kilogram. True, he wasn’t at Lugovoi, but he ended at Balyaev.
“Due to the fact that deliveries from China are closed, we are transporting potatoes from Azerbaijan and Krasnodar. Since the price of suppliers is higher, the retail price is also increasing. But these are temporary difficulties. After opening the borders, the cost will decrease. We also rely on local manufacturers. There are no problems with potato stocks in our network. In those stores where there was no potato, apparently they didn’t have time to deliver it to the outlet, ”they said in Remy.
At Sambury, potatoes from the Moscow Region and Primorye are sold at 79,99 and 79,9 rubles, respectively. Young potatoes from Azerbaijan are more expensive - 99,9 rubles per kilogram.
“The retail price of potatoes has risen. The reason is that suppliers have changed. Now there is no Chinese potato, since the Russian Federation has tightened requirements for the import of potatoes, the procedure for obtaining permits for import has become more complicated. Our network sells potatoes from Egypt, Azerbaijan and the central part of Russia, Primorye and a small part from China (but there are very few of them). The price at which we purchase potatoes starts at 75 rubles per kilogram, ”Sambury said.
In the network "Fresh 25" the cheapest potato - at 34,9 rubles per kilogram. But not all stores have it available. Young potatoes are brought from Azerbaijan.
“Pricing in our network has not changed. We, as retailers, depend on input prices from suppliers. Of course, the situation was affected by the cessation of supplies from China. We brought potatoes from Azerbaijan and sold them at a share price of 99,9 rubles per kilogram. Last year, we offer 34,9 rubles each, ”they said in Fresh 25.
In the markets of Vladivostok, young potatoes are even more expensive - from 100 to 200 rubles per kilo, but it is at least local, mainly from the Spassky district.
“Last year's potato is ending. Some suppliers do not have it at all. But there are no young Chinese potatoes at the bases, and so did the prices for the local one, which the farmers planted in plastic and in greenhouses in February. Moreover, it is just starting to appear, and its price at bases is 130-150 rubles per kilogram. I’m selling this potato at 200 rubles per kilogram, ”said the seller from the market on Balyaeva.
In the market at Sportivnaya, two or three sellers can find last year's potatoes at 70-80 rubles per kilogram. Almost everyone is young the same: from 130 rubles (small) to 150 rubles (large). Here and there they offer for 180 rubles per kilo.
“The potato is local, tasty, take it!” It cannot be compared with Chinese, ”the seller persuades from the market at Sportivnaya. - Why is the price so high? Do you know how much labor has been invested in this crop? Fertilizers, transportation costs - we also need to pay for everything. In August, when the main crop ripens, the price, of course, will become lower. ”
