This year, about 13,4 thousand hectares of farmland have been allocated for potatoes in the Sverdlovsk region, vegetables of open ground are placed on an area of 1,5 thousand hectares.
Despite the dry summer, vegetable yields are expected to be at the average annual level. The Sverdlovsk agrarians plan to harvest 272 thousand tons of potatoes and 44 thousand tons of vegetables, which will meet the needs of the region's residents for vitamin products.
At the same time, the region continues to harvest grain and feed.
So, in the farms of the Kamensky district of hay and haylage, more than half of the required amount is laid for the winter, the fodder producers intend to get the missing volumes due to the second mowing of grasses and silage of corn, which are being harvested these days.
According to Artem Bakhterev, Deputy Minister of Agroindustrial Complex and Consumer Market of the Sverdlovsk Region, the harvesting campaign in the Middle Urals is generally organized.
Financial support from the state contributes to the successful work of the Ural farmers. Farms are provided with subsidies to reimburse part of the costs of agrotechnical work, increase soil fertility and quality. In 2020, the amount of subsidies will amount to 2,8 billion rubles, of which 471,7 million from the federal budget and 2,3 billion from the regional budget.
