On June 29, 2021, the law "On beekeeping in the Russian Federation" came into force. It lays down the legal basis for the development of beekeeping and the preservation of insects.
In order to prevent the mass death of honey plants, the law obliges agrarians to notify the entire population within a radius of seven kilometers from the field treated with pesticides and agrochemicals about the upcoming "injury" at least three days in advance. Messages should be posted on the Internet, newspapers and radio. They must indicate in what time frame, how and with what exactly the fields will be treated, how dangerous the selected chemicals are, and how long beekeepers should isolate the bees in the hives.
