According to him, Germany became the largest potato producer, accounting for 21,2% of the volume in the EU, followed by Poland (16,4%), France (15,7%), the Netherlands (12,7%) and Belgium ( 7,2%).

The total value of processed potatoes in the EU reached 9,1 billion euros in 2019, or 1,6 percent of the production value of the entire European food industry.
