Last year, the gross harvest of potatoes increased by almost 40%, the press service of the Head and Government of the Republic of Ingushetia reports.
“Given that significant volumes of this product are imported into the region from outside, the leadership of the republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Ingushetia and many local agricultural producers are solving the issue of increasing the share of potatoes grown in Ingushetia,” the region’s agricultural department said.
Taking into account the dependence on the pricing policy of wholesale suppliers, resellers and sales, this task currently remains relevant.
In mid-February 2022, the cost of one kilogram of potato tubers in the republic ranged from 40 to 55 rubles.
According to the data of the North Caucasus State Statistics Service, in the Republic of Ingushetia last year the republic's agrarians harvested 43,2 thousand tons of potatoes. A positive dynamics of growth of indicators for this type of product was noted. Experts record that, compared to 2020, the gross harvest increased by 39,9%.
The main suppliers of potatoes to the regional market are personal subsidiary farms and private farmsteads. According to statistics, they account for 69,8% and 85,5% of this production, respectively.
