By the end of May, more than 2 million hectares of spring crops were sown in the Saratov Region. Almost half of the area is made up of grain and leguminous crops - 937 thousand ha. Industrial crops were sown on an area of 993 thousand ha (80% of the plan), potatoes were planted on an area of more than 23 thousand ha (98% of the plan), vegetable crops were sown on 13,9 thousand ha (80% of the plan).
The largest sown area at the moment in Perelyubsky and Pugachevsky districts is more than 100 thousand hectares.
Sugar beets sown 7,88 thousand hectares (66% of the plan). The leaders among the beet-growing areas are the Balashov and Romanovsky districts. This was reported by the regional Ministry of Agriculture.
