An agricultural enterprise from the Yaroslavl region is investing about 200 million rubles in potato production in the Crimea as part of the import substitution program. This was reported to journalists in Simferopol by the deputy chairman of the regional government Valery Kholodov.
“Today (between the Development Corporation of the Republic of Crimea and the agricultural cooperative“ Yaroslavia ”- note TASS) a memorandum on investment activity has been signed, an investment site has been chosen - the agricultural park“ Veresaevo ”, where 500 hectares of land are allocated for growing (early) potatoes. The volume of investments will be about 200 million rubles, 75 jobs will be created, ”Kholodov said.
He called the cultivation of early potatoes in Crimea "an important import substitution project." “This is an import-substituting project instead of Egyptian potatoes, which are delivered to our consumers at the earliest,” said the deputy chairman of the regional government.
Kholodov also said that Yaroslavl businessmen intend to build a vegetable storehouse in Crimea with a capacity of 10 thousand tons of one-time storage in order to create "interchange logistics technology for the delivery of potatoes - late potatoes from the Yaroslavl region to Crimea and early potatoes from Crimea to Yaroslavl."
On August 14, a delegation of the Yaroslavl region presented the investment potential of the region in Simferopol and plans a series of meetings with local authorities and businessmen to discuss possible implementation of joint projects.
