The prospects for the development of crop production in Buryatia were discussed on the eve of April 3 in the government of the republic. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Republic of Belarus Alexey Tsydenov and was attended by the heads of agricultural organizations, food and processing enterprises, representatives of the scientific community and public organizations, executive and legislative bodies of the Republic of Belarus, as well as heads of municipalities.
According to the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus, Daba-Zhalsan Chiripov, today in the republic crop production accounts for just over 30% of the total agricultural output. At the same time, the industry makes a significant contribution to the development of the agro-industrial complex, covering the needs of the population for vegetables and potatoes, as well as feed grain, concentrated, rough and succulent feed in livestock farming.
As the head of the republic noted, the agriculture of Buryatia today has come out of a protracted peak, the situation is improving, but there are still many questions: we need high-quality breeding work so that we have elite seeds, and the issue of land reclamation, and training, and the issue of providing technique - a whole range of issues that need to be addressed.
“Within the framework of the meeting, a set of measures is being developed, which will subsequently be implemented, and we are confident that we will have an increase in the efficiency of agriculture as a whole,” the head of Buryatia noted.
He also commented on the volume of support for the agricultural sector of the republic. Today, subsidized acquisition of equipment, land reclamation costs, subsidized cultivation of arable land.
- There are many support measures. But the issue of effective use, according to some measures, part of the money is still not in demand. It is clear that the season is just beginning. We will look at the most effective directions within the framework of the meeting, maybe we will redistribute the articles if we understand that there are more priority areas, '' Tsydenov stressed.
The head of Buryatia instructed the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus to prepare a separate meeting on the state of the seed fund in the republic and the necessary measures to support breeding work on the cultivation of resistant elite varieties of seeds with high feed and seed productivity.
