In 2023, Miratorg and the Vkusno-i Tochka chain are planning to start building a new plant for the production of frozen french fries and potato wedges for supplies to Vkusno-i Tochka enterprises, the press service of Miratorg reports.
The multibillion-dollar project will include several stages, including an increase in the sown area of specially selected potato varieties, as well as the creation of Miratorg's own seed fund. The project will be implemented in one of the regions of central Russia, plans include the construction of modern vegetable stores and a plant for the production of finished products in the amount of at least 90 tons per year.
The production cycle at the new plant will take into account all the specifics of the collection, processing and storage of potatoes in order to meet the highest quality requirements of the Vkusno-i Tochka chain. The production will be fully automated, which is typical for similar modern sites in the world. This industrial line will allow the production of frozen french fries and other products.
This project is aimed at producing end products for Russian consumers, but it will also have a multiplier effect on the development of the potato seed industry in the country. The commissioning of the plant is planned for the end of 2024. “Potatoes are an integral part of the diet of Russians. And French fries and its various variations are well known to the Russian consumer in the Vkusno-i Tochka chain, which aims to maintain high quality standards for its products. We are pleased with such joint cooperation and synergy, and we are also confident in the successful implementation of this truly large-scale project,” commented Alexander Linnik, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Miratorg.
“In our factories, french fries are one of the most favorite products of the guests. We understand how important it is for them that the taste and quality of it remain on top. Faced with logistical difficulties this year in the supply of frozen product, we decided that in the long run it would be more profitable for us to ensure uninterrupted supply of potatoes ourselves. I am very glad that we have found such a large and strong partner as ABH Miratorg - thanks to our cooperation, another large plant will appear in Russia, providing the regions of the country with high-quality products, ”says Alexander Govor, owner of the Vkusno - i Tochka network .
