Onions from Egypt will appear on Chelyabinsk shelves. It will replace the Central Asian one, the supply of which was limited after frosts in neighboring countries. This was told by the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Chelyabinsk region Inna Podshivalova on the radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda-Chelyabinsk" (95,3 FM).
- Trading networks intend to buy onions in Egypt. Potatoes are brought from Egypt, - said Inna Podshivalova. - In Central Asia, where frosts have occurred, they are concerned about their own food security, so they temporarily limited supplies.
At the same time, she noted that there is no reason for concern - 60% of our onions come from domestic producers. These are Stavropol Territory, Rostov and Volgograd Regions.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture on the radio "Komsomolskaya Pravda-Chelyabinsk" also added that, in general, the Chelyabinsk region is well provided with the products of the "borscht set". Thus, the volume of cabbage stocks is 4 times higher than last year, beets - 3,5 times, potatoes - 7 times, - Inna Podshivalova cited the figures.
