In the Sakhalin region, they plan to modernize vegetable stores. For agricultural enterprises and farms in the island region, there is a state subsidy of 50 percent of the cost of modern climate systems.
On the territory of the region today there are 83 vegetable stores with a capacity of about 78 thousand tons. Some of them were built in the last five years and are equipped with new equipment. State support measures are envisaged for the reconstruction of storage facilities built 30-40 years ago.
Modern climatic and refrigeration units will extend the preservation of vegetables until the next harvest and, thus, will provide Sakhalin and Kuril residents with healthy products all year round.
This information was announced at a meeting of the board of the regional ministry of agriculture under the leadership of the deputy chairman of the government of the Sakhalin region Anatoly Makoedov.
This year, the average potato yield on the island farms was 244 centners per hectare - this is the best result in the history of the region. Each inhabitant of the island region today accounts for about 100 kilograms of potatoes per year, while the medical norm is 95 kilograms.
According to Tamara Mulenkova, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the region, by the end of the year it is planned to collect more than 7 thousand tons of greenhouses in Sakhalin greenhouses. During the year, the supply of Sakhalin and Kuril residents with cucumbers and tomatoes will increase by 16 percent and will be almost completely closed.
Today you can find about 20 types of vegetables on the counters of island outlets. Almost all farms grow the so-called "borscht group" - white cabbage, carrots, beets. Zucchini, squash, pumpkin and other crops are also produced. Celery, beans, green peas, turnips represent the potential for expanding the range.
- Today, when agriculture in the island region is actively developing, many imported goods have been replaced by local products. Currently, the Sakhalin region is fully provided with potatoes and chicken eggs, - said the Minister of Agriculture of the region Mikhail Kuzmenko.
At the end of 2018, it is planned to produce more than 33 thousand tons of milk in the island region (an increase compared to last year, 8,1 percent), more than 12 thousand tons of meat (an increase of 44,7 percent), 141 million chicken eggs (an increase of 7,9, XNUMX percent). The Ostrovnaya poultry farm this year covers the need of Sakhalin and Kuril residents for eggs in accordance with all medical standards, IA Sakh.com reports with reference to the press service of the regional government.
