Uzbekistan intends to grow 3,5 million tons of vegetables this year.
This is stated in the government decree "On measures to improve the efficiency of the use of plots of dehkan farms and household plots."
According to the document, over 172 million tons of vegetables will grow in the republic on 3,5 thousand hectares of dekhkan farms and household plots of land. Of these, 23 thousand hectares will be occupied by onions, and 18 thousand hectares - by carrots.
In particular, from 31,5 thousand hectares of land they want 667 tons of melons, from 47 thousand hectares - a million tons of potatoes, and from 26,7 thousand hectares - 80 thousand tons of legumes.
