At the end of 2023, the region harvested 88,2 thousand tons of potatoes, which is 14,6% higher than the previous season. The harvest of open and closed ground vegetables also increased by 5%, reaching almost 43 thousand tons.
Most Khabarovsk vegetable growers use domestic seeds for planting, and locally produced ones. Specialists from the Far Eastern Agricultural Research Institute are working on creating new varieties of crops, for example, tomatoes and cucumbers. Such vegetables are adapted to the Far Eastern climate and are valued by the population for their excellent taste.
