On the eve of spring field work, the level of supply of seed material for a number of agricultural crops significantly exceeds the needs of the republic itself.
As the Minister of Agriculture of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic Hasan Sizhazhev said, the region has 5,5 thousand tons of grain and leguminous seeds of higher reproduction, with a need of 4,4 thousand tons. About 15 thousand tons of seed corn were produced here, with the required 3,3 thousand tons. In 2023, 5 thousand tons of potato planting material were received, while local farmers needed just over 2 thousand tons.
Surplus seeds from Kabardino-Balkaria are actively supplied to other regions of Russia that are experiencing a shortage of this product.
