This year, the production of native starches in Russia increased by 5%, modified starches - by 36%. The Zerno On-Line agency reports citing the Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat).
From January to July of this year Russian producers produced 166,0 thousand tons of native and 29,3 thousand tons of modified starches.
More than half of all starch was in the Central Federal District.
Compared to last year, starch production indicators increased in all federal districts, but most noticeably in the North Caucasus Federal District (+ 35% or +5,8 thousand tons).
