The ceremony of laying the first stone in the foundation of the plant of the company "Syngenta" took place at the Yelets site of the SEZ "Lipetsk". Syngenta is one of the world's leading agricultural companies. The ceremony was attended by Igor Artamonov, Head of the Lipetsk Region Administration, Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Jonathan Brown, Director of Singeta, and Dmitry Dudarev, Director of Lipetsk SEZ.
Igor Artamonov thanked the investor for his trust and choice of a site for the construction of a plant in the Lipetsk region. “I am glad that the world leader has chosen the Yelets site of the special economic zone. This speaks of investor confidence in the federal and regional authorities. The new plant means, firstly, jobs, and secondly, the development of a special economic zone. We hope that other companies will come for Syngenta. We are waiting for new offers ", - said Igor Artamonov.
Investments in the project will amount to 1,6 billion rubles, more than 40 jobs will be created. The first phase of the project involves the production of plant protection products with a total annual volume of 5 million liters. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2021.
“This is the largest investment project of our company in the last five years. We chose the place for construction, taking into account the traffic interchange, there are many agricultural enterprises nearby, these are our customers. We will be able to quickly respond to their requests and quickly deliver products. In addition, we quickly found a common language with the local authorities, they help us in everything. We hope to educate staff for ourselves, we plan to participate in the educational programs of educational institutions in the region ”, - said the director of LLC "Syngenta" Jonathan Brown.
Svetlana Chupsheva, General Director of the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, highly appreciated the work of the administration to attract investors. “The special economic zone of the Lipetsk region is one of the three leaders and today's event once again proves the great interest of investors in the region. Favorable conditions and infrastructure are being created for large companies, for small and medium-sized businesses. A lot of questions are devoted to personnel training. We are confident that the Lipetsk region will continue to move forward ", - said Svetlana Chupsheva.
