Azerbaijan is able to grow enough potatoes both to provide for the local market and for export abroad.
This was stated by the Director of the Vegetable Research Institute of the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan Elmar Allahverdiyev in an interview with Trend News Agency.
In particular, Elmar Allahverdiyev noted: “Today, the volume of potato production in Azerbaijan allows us to meet the needs of the domestic market, as well as export to foreign countries. However, entrepreneurs have one problem. Farmers cannot find storage facilities for storing manufactured products, which is difficult in the winter months. Due to the lack of warehouses, farmers sell their products, one might say, for nothing, if only they would not deteriorate. In the regions, several entrepreneurs have already solved this problem. They built special warehouses where you can store potatoes. After resolving this issue throughout the country, Azerbaijan will no longer import potatoes, that is, the potatoes produced in the country will be enough to saturate the domestic market, as well as for export. ”
