In 2022, agricultural producers of the Nizhny Novgorod region plan to return 25 hectares of previously unused land to production. This was announced by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Nikolai Denisov, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia reports. “Work on putting unused land into circulation has been carried out in the region since 2015 - during this time, more than 150 thousand hectares of agricultural land have been returned to production, on which farmers today grow cereals, potatoes, vegetables, fruit and berry trees and shrubs. By the end of 2022, another 25 thousand hectares will be added to this volume, they will be sown with grain and leguminous crops,” said Nikolai Denisov.
“To intensify this work, state support is provided in the form of reimbursement to agricultural producers of 50% of the costs incurred for holding cultural and technical measures - uprooting, plowing, improving the chemical composition of arable land. This allows us to bring the land plots into the proper condition for growing crops on them,” Nikolai Denisov explained.
Let us recall that about 5 billion rubles of subsidies have been allocated to support agricultural enterprises and the development of rural areas of the Nizhny Novgorod region this year, of which more than 2 billion rubles have already been distributed to agricultural producers. The funds were used to carry out spring field work; melioration; reimbursement of part of the costs associated with the acquisition of machinery and equipment; to support producers of milk and vegetables, support personnel and other areas.
