A monument to potatoes was unveiled in the agricultural town Deshchenka, Minsk region. The monument is a basket of tubers raised on a large stone pedestal with the inscription: “Belarusians have three shrines: bread, salt and potatoes on a tablecloth”. The first potato museum in Belarus appeared here about 10 years ago. In addition, potato festivals are held annually in the agro-town.
