Despite the difficult weather conditions that have developed this year for most crops, the gross harvest for some of them in the Lipetsk region exceeded the level of 2020.
This year Lipetsk farmers have grown 10% more vegetables in the borscht set (potatoes, onions, cabbage, beets and carrots). The production of potatoes and vegetables, as well as sugar beets and sugar, will continue to increase in 2022.
The pride of the Lipetsk region is greenhouse vegetables. Having collected 170 thousand tons in 2021, the region will retain its leading position in Russia in terms of this indicator.
Enterprises of the food and processing industry in the region continue to provide the population of the region with high-quality food products. In recent years, the production of new types of products has been mastered, such as: rapeseed, soybean, flaxseed, camelina, lupine vegetable oils, snacks, juices with prebiotics, french fries, premixes, frozen fruits and vegetables and yeast.
Due to the active development of the agro-industrial complex of the Lipetsk region, the products manufactured by local enterprises not only cover the regional demand, but also are supplied to the domestic market and abroad. More than 70 countries of the world import agricultural products. The export of products of the agro-industrial complex already occupies the second place in the regional foreign trade turnover of the region and amounts to 13%.
This year the Lipetsk region was recognized as the region No. 1 in terms of stability in the development of the agro-industrial complex. To determine the winner, the data of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation on the development of the agricultural sector over the past 5 years were analyzed.
