Last week, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Andrei Razin made a working visit to the Lipetsk region. At the meeting with his participation, issues of compliance with crop rotation and the provision of the Central Federal District (CFD) with material and technical resources were discussed.
The agro-industrial complex of the district makes a significant contribution to the formation of food security in the country. This year, the sown area under the main agricultural crops here will increase to 16,2 million hectares. These include sugar beets, oilseeds and open-ground vegetables.
Preparations for spring field work in the Central Federal District are proceeding as usual. Farmers purchase the required volume of seeds, fuel, mineral fertilizers and continue to build up reserves. They have more than 85,7 thousand tractors at their disposal, which is higher than last year. This season, producers plan to purchase more than 1,4 thousand units of new agricultural machinery.
As part of his working trip, Andrei Razin met with the Governor of the Lipetsk Region, Igor Artamonov. Speaking about the potential of the local agro-industrial complex, the parties discussed the development of seed production in the region based on domestic breeding achievements.
