Golden potato nematode is a quarantine organism related to phytohelminths, that is, plant worms. This quarantine object is most harmful in places where potatoes are constantly grown. In addition to potatoes, it affects tomatoes, eggplants and other plants of the nightshade family.
The main measure to reduce the harmfulness of the golden potato nematode is the observance of crop rotations. It is not recommended to grow potatoes in the same area year after year. Potatoes must return to the same planting area no earlier than after five years.
In terms of nematode control, cruciferous plants are the best crops. These are all types of cabbage, radish, as well as radishes, turnips, mustard.
