" The Onion - Onion Festival is a good example of an event that combined the traditions of the past and the present, creating an attractive image of the Russian hinterland.
The tradition of holding onion festivals began in 2007 with an ordinary harvest festival where residents of the region sold gifts of gardens and kitchen gardens, the main of which from time immemorial was considered to be onion. In the early years, the Onion Onion festival gathered several hundred people, but in 2018 it was visited by 12 thousand people, including guests from different regions of Russia and some foreign countries, more than 20 tons of onions were sold. In 2018, the Onion Festival took third place in the national event tourism award Russian Event Awards.
