The Russian Association of Fertilizer Producers (RAPU) records a significant increase in the supply of mineral fertilizers to the domestic market. According to the results of the first quarter of 2020, the enterprises included in the RAAP increased supplies to the domestic market by 35,2% in physical weight and by 38,2% in terms of active substances, compared with the same period last year.
Recall that the members of the RAAP are 14 companies that provide more than 90% of the total volume of the Russian market of mineral fertilizers. With the growing needs of Russian farmers, the members of the RAAP reoriented some of their export supplies to the domestic market.
President of the Association, General Director of PhosAgro PJSC Andrei Guryev noted: “This year, both the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the RAAP repeatedly emphasized the importance of agricultural enterprises on the importance of creating mineral fertilizer reserves by spring. Since the beginning of the year, the demand for mineral fertilizers has remained at a record level and is fully provided by industry enterprises. ”
In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, headquarters are working in companies and at the level of RAAP, the main task of which is to take operational measures to reduce the risks of further spread of infection and ensure uninterrupted operation of enterprises critical for food security and the country's economy.
“The intensity, consistency and scale of the measures taken suggests that the need of Russian agricultural producers in mineral fertilizers this spring will be fully satisfied,” said Andrei Guryev.
Recall that in 2019, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Russian farmers purchased 3,53 million tons of mineral fertilizers in terms of active substances. According to the agency, consumption growth this year will be about 5%.
