The Minister of Agriculture and Food of the Moscow Region, Sergei Voskresensky, paid a working visit to the Dmitrovsky urban district of the Moscow Region.
The trip took place on the eve of the spring sowing campaign.
As part of the trip, Sergei Voskresensky visited the enterprises "Doka-Genennye tekhnologii" and "Agrofirm" Bunyatino ". He also met with representatives of the Potato Union and agricultural enterprises near Moscow, which are engaged in vegetable growing.
At the meetings, they discussed issues of the vegetable growing industry, the upcoming sowing of early vegetables and potatoes in the region.
“Vegetable growing and potato growing occupy a significant niche of the regional agro-industrial complex. According to forecasts, sowing of vegetables in open ground in 2021 will amount to more than 7,8 thousand hectares, ”said Sergei Voskresensky.
The minister recalled that the Moscow region ranks first in the Central Federal District in terms of production of vegetables grown in the open field, and is in the top five in the Russian Federation.
“96 agricultural enterprises and private farms are engaged in vegetables and potatoes in our region. The main of which, with a production volume of more than 50% of the regional volume, are located in the Dmitrovsky urban district. And here the first to start planting potatoes, in particular, in the agricultural holding "Dmitrovskie vegetables". This year, the agricultural enterprise plans to sow 835 hectares with vegetables in open ground, and 1,2 thousand hectares with potatoes, ”stressed Sergei Voskresensky.
