When using pesticides, Russian farmers will have to notify beekeepers and residents of neighboring villages about each case of their use. The Federation Council approved such a law on July 5. The measure is aimed at eliminating the mass death of bees from pesticides.
Beekeepers and residents of settlements located within a radius of 7 km from the site of pesticide treatment will have to be informed no earlier than ten and no later than five days before the start of work.
“Unlike previous legislation, such notification is required whenever pesticides are used,” the senator noted.
You will need to report the name of the pesticides planned for use, the cadastral number or address of the land plot, the date of application, method and dosage, as well as the recommended period of isolation of bees in the hives.
