The August company equipped a new auditorium for integrated plant protection for the Michurinsk State Agrarian University in the science city of Michurinsk, Tambov region. The room, designed for 20 students, was renovated, furniture, multimedia equipment and a digital microscope were purchased. The auditorium was inaugurated on September 12; students from the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Agricultural Biotechnologies named after I.V. will study there. Michurina.
The official opening was attended by the head of the Michurinsk State Agrarian University Sergei Zhidkov, the director of the Institute of Fundamental and Applied Agricultural Biotechnologies named after I.V. “Today, all conditions for acquiring knowledge are being created for future agronomists of our university,” Sergei Zhidkov noted in his opening speech at the opening of the auditorium. – In order for the training of personnel in the agro-industrial complex to be more successful and for students to better understand the basics of agricultural sciences, much attention is paid to improving the material and technical base. “August” and I are partners and I hope that we will cooperate for many years to come.”
The auditorium is decorated using the corporate style of the August company; information stands with data on the main plant diseases, pests and weeds are placed on the walls. The room is equipped with the latest multimedia equipment, a computer, a controlled camera and sound speakers, which will make it possible to demonstrate to students the necessary presentations, photo and video materials, as well as organize distance learning, conduct interactive classes and seminars. In order to strengthen the laboratory base, representatives of “August” handed over a digital microscope to a new audience, which will allow students to study in more detail and more accurately identify harmful objects that cause damage to crops.
“This is one of the university classrooms where the subject of chemical plant protection is taught historically. Now it has acquired a new look, and students will continue to study here the most modern methods of combating pathogens,” said Mikhail Romanov. – Our cooperation with the university has lasted for more than one year; many specialists from our representative office and agricultural laboratory are graduates of the university, and some are current teachers. On the basis of the new classroom, we plan to conduct joint classes, in which representatives of “August” and our agricultural partners will take part, and also intend to expand cooperation in the organization of educational and practical training for students.”
In addition, Augusta specialists introduced students to a digital tool that the company has developed to help agronomists - a mobile application with an atlas of harmful objects, a search for necessary drugs by crops and active ingredients, useful calculators, a catalog of Augusta products and other necessary information.
