According to the results of 2022, the farms of Transbaikalia introduced over 21 thousand hectares of unused arable land into agricultural circulation. This was announced by the head of the regional agrarian department Denis Bochkarev, indicated on official website of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
“Agricultural organizations of the region have completed work to involve fallow lands in the turnover, which were carried out from April to October. In total, this year, the agrarians of Transbaikalia raised unclaimed agricultural land on an area of 21,2 thousand hectares through cultural and technical measures - at the level of last year, ”the minister said.
Work on putting fallow lands into circulation was carried out by four agricultural enterprises: Novoe Beklemishevo, Teros ZK, Zabaikalagro and Mangazeya Agro.
“Based on the results of the work performed, they will be provided with state support funds under the program for the conservation of reclaimed soils in agricultural circulation. The implementation of the plan will allow agricultural producers to receive compensation from the federal budget in the amount of 50% of the costs incurred,” Denis Bochkarev explained.
It should be noted that the Trans-Baikal Territory has a large potential of fallow lands and unused arable land on the territory of more than 1 million hectares. Accordingly, one of the main areas of work of the region's farmers is now putting agricultural land into circulation for obtaining crop products.
