The new generation of GRIMME receiving hoppers RH 20, RH 24 and RH 28 features numerous improvements in terms of throughput, gentle product handling, comfort and versatility, which are reflected in the new machine design.
Optimized bunker bottom conveyor
The speed of the bunker bottom conveyor can be set on new receiving bunkers in the range from 0,2 to 6,0 m/min. The significantly deeper pockets of the bunker bottom conveyor provide a high gripping effect and facilitate emptying of the bunker without leaving any residue. The modified Capacity Control function now allows you to adjust the speed of the bunker bottom conveyor, setting the throughput in tons per hour.
The reduced hopper conveyor lift angle increases productivity and improves product flow. The loading area expanded by 10 cm provides an increased volume of product intake and also facilitates access to the receiving hopper. This is also facilitated by a shunting alarm with traffic light switching. New LED work lighting allows you to work comfortably even in the dark.
Ease of management
The receiving hoppers are controlled easily and intuitively using the new ISOBUS control unit IBX 300.
Expanded control is possible using the ISOBUS control panel CCI 800. Various workflow support systems relieve the user of the burden during machine operation. All necessary settings such as roll speed, roll gap and inclination angle are now visualized in an even more user-friendly manner and can be easily reproduced.
The new Remain Control function registers the height of the product layer in the loading area of the receiving hopper. When the receiving hopper is refilled, the crop does not fall directly to the bottom of the hopper, but rather to a predetermined amount of product remaining. This significantly improves the careful handling of the product.
Optimized soil separation and fractionation
Thanks to a modified articulated adjustment mechanism, the separating and grading rollers can be even better adapted to existing operating conditions. The VarioClean function ensures high cleaning efficiency, especially when working on heavy and sticky soils. An additional transfer stage is built inside the soil separation roller package, which loosens the product flow. In addition, it is possible to install rollers in front of and behind the stage with a slight lift, which increases the length of time the product remains on the rollers and, accordingly, the cleaning time.
Another new feature is that the polyurethane spiral rollers can rotate against the product flow during the Turbo-Clean function, so that most of the separated soil ends up on the soil conveyors and the bottom of the hopper, rather than on the product conveyor. This reliably prevents the formation of soil accumulations in the potato storage.
Variety of new equipment options
The RH 28 features a high throughput thanks to its 2,80 m wide separator. The new RH 24 XT variant is also available as a high-performance alternative for loading potatoes into storage. With this version, behind the cleaning rollers there is a large inspection table, which can optionally be combined with an optoelectronic sorting device.
Also new is the RH 24-60 S receiving hopper with straight lift. The machine can be equipped with an onion flow distribution device, an additional transfer conveyor (i.e. the conveyor between the hopper bottom conveyor and the roller packs), as well as smooth steel rollers. This option is used primarily for sensitive field vegetables such as onions and carrots.
