Lay's brand will renew its packaging and logo for the first time in twelve years. The chip maker will also relaunch its official website to highlight the design change.
The first redesign since 2007 will be carried out by the brand of potato chips Lay's (owned by PepsiCo). Chips in the new packaging will first appear in the US and Canada, and then in other markets.
Lay's made the logo smaller, changed the font and the angle of the photos. With the rebranding, the chip maker hopes to attract more of a younger audience.
Frito-Lay's chief designer, John Guerra, said the company wanted to convey through the new design that Lay's is "a fun and flavorful brand." First, the chips will appear in the new packaging in the US and Canada, and then in other markets.
