The Minister of Agriculture of Russia Dmitry Patrushev paid a working visit to the Bryansk region and held a visiting meeting of the headquarters to monitor the situation in the agro-industrial complex and on the food market. Before that, he, together with the governor Alexander Bogomaz, inspected a number of vegetable and potato processing enterprises.
The Bryansk region has recently become a leader in many positions in the agro-industrial complex. The share of agricultural products in the gross regional product in recent years has grown from 7 to 19 percent. Even in a difficult year due to the pandemic, the industry showed a growth of 103 percent.
Before the meeting, the minister and the governor examined the exhibition of products of the agro-industrial complex and processing industry enterprises. The delegation appreciated the technologies of cultivation of agricultural crops at the diversified enterprise Melensky Potato LLC, and also visited one of the leading enterprises for processing vegetables and potatoes in the region - Druzhba-2 LLC (APH Okhotno).
Druzhba-2 LLC grows carrots and potatoes. For long-term storage of vegetables on the farm, vegetable stores and a plant for washing and packaging products have been erected. The equipment meets the most modern requirements.
In a conversation with the management of the enterprise, issues of selling the products of the domestic manufacturer in chain stores were discussed. They also talked about the difficult weather conditions this summer, which affected the harvest, in particular, of potatoes.
