A meeting with members of the People's Farmer Association was held at the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. During the event, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut discussed with representatives of the association the improvement of state support for small agribusiness and legislative regulation in this area, and also answered questions from farmers on various aspects of their activities.
According to her, today the Ministry gives priority to the development of farming and cooperation. In 2023, the amount of state support in this area will increase from 12 to 14 billion rubles. Among other things, it is planned to increase the size of the Agrostartup grant from 5 to 7 million rubles. At the moment, the relevant draft resolution is under consideration by the Government.
The Deputy Minister also noted that in the context of an unstable situation with the supply of imported seeds, work to support domestic breeders comes to the fore - this will provide the foundation for food security and achieve the required level of import substitution. In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture will consider the possibility of simplifying the procedure for including Russian varieties in the State Register of Breeding Achievements, in particular, limiting the duration of tests to 1 year, and also conducting them on applicants' plots. In addition, the expediency of making changes to the list of criteria for evaluating varieties will be considered, taking into account not only yield, but also taste, shelf life and other characteristics. These measures, according to Oksana Lut, can help speed up the work on introducing effective varieties into real production.
Other topical issues were discussed at the meeting, such as the development of agro-tourism, the use of agricultural land, the functioning of the FSIS "Saturn" and the improvement of legislative acts in the field of the agro-industrial complex. As Oksana Lut noted, such meetings are an important communication channel between the Ministry of Agriculture and small business representatives, which allows them to directly learn about the problems of the industry and jointly develop the necessary solutions.
