The Ministry of Agriculture of Russia hosted a meeting dedicated to prices for fuels and lubricants and agricultural machinery for farmers. The event was attended by senators of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Energy, the Federal Antimonopoly Service and JSC Rosagroleasing.
The event was chaired by Alexander Dvoinykh, Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Agrarian and Food Policy and Environmental Management, and Andrey Razin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
Opening the meeting, Alexander Dvoinykh noted that the issues of providing farmers with material and technical resources at affordable prices for seasonal field work, primarily fuel and lubricants, are under the special control of the Committee. He recalled that the previous meeting, which reviewed the progress of the sowing campaign, was held at the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia, and today it is important to discuss issues of ensuring successful harvesting at the Russian Ministry of Agriculture.
The senator also confirmed that the Committee, together with the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia and the agro-industrial complex authorities in the regions, will ensure strict control over the situation with prices for fuel and lubricants.
According to Andrei Razin, the availability of fuel and lubricants during the harvesting period is one of the key issues for farmers. The participants of the meeting considered the appeals of a number of regions, in which an increase in prices for certain types of fuels and lubricants is reported. As noted, for high-quality harvesting and maintaining the profitability of agricultural producers, it is necessary to prevent sharp price fluctuations in this segment.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to develop a plan for the purchase of petroleum products during a period of low demand, continue monitoring the price situation in the fuel and lubricants market and implement an agreed increase in the sales standards for diesel fuel and motor gasoline on the stock exchange.
