The press service of ABH Miratorg informs about the conclusion of an agreement between the holding and the Government of the Bryansk region, which provides for the opening in the region of a selection and seed center for the creation of potato varieties and the production of elite seeds. Investments in the project will amount to 692 million rubles. The expected production capacity of the center is 11,5 thousand tons of seeds per year.
The project of a breeding and seed-growing center in the Bryansk region will become part of an interregional full-cycle enterprise for the production of seed potatoes of high reproductions. For its implementation, a production and warehouse complex with a sorting area and warehouse sheds, laboratories with a set of equipment for assessing the quality of varieties (hybrids) will be created, and a fleet of specialized equipment will be purchased.
Seed material of reproduction of super-superelite class seeds will come from the Kaliningrad region to Bryansk region for further planting of seeds for the production of superelite and elite class seed potatoes. To improve quality and marketability, as well as to minimize the risks of drought, the cultivation of elite and superelite class seeds will be carried out on the company's irrigated fields.
“The new site will become a base for obtaining elite seeds for commercial potato production and subsequent processing at the Grand Fries joint venture in the Oryol region, which will produce french fries and potato pancakes for Vkusno — i Tochka restaurants, as well as for other HoReCa segments. Investments in the domestic raw material base will help accelerate the growth rate of high-quality potato production in accordance with the high quality requirements of raw materials from our partners and cover the domestic needs of the fast food market in domestic raw materials,” said Victor Linnik, President of ABH Miratorg.
