Miratorg has completed the planting of potatoes for its own vegetable project on an area of more than 1,5 thousand hectares.
In the Tula region, the sown area for commercial potatoes amounted to 986 hectares, for seed potatoes - 152 hectares. In the Bryansk region, commercial potatoes were planted on an area of 337 hectares, seed potatoes on an area of 66 hectares. In the Stavropol Territory, potatoes were planted for the first time, in July they will already receive an early harvest from an area of 19 hectares.
To replace imported seeds, the company purchased mini-tubers of the Terra and Alaska varieties from the Ural Research Institute of Agriculture and signed an agreement of intent to grow seeds of these varieties with the Ural Potato company.
The agricultural holding plans to harvest from 40 to 63 tons per hectare of commercial potatoes this year, depending on the planting region and the characteristics of the fields.
The resulting crop will go to a processing plant in the Tula region. The grown products will cover the holding's own needs in ingredients for frozen vegetable mixes, semi-finished products and culinary dishes, in addition, fresh potatoes will be supplied to retail chains.
