On November 21, a meeting of the Council for the Development of the Land Reclamation Complex of Russia was chaired by the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Dzhambulat Khatuov. The event was attended by representatives of regions, agricultural producers, the scientific community and machinery manufacturers.
During the meeting, the development of land reclamation within the framework of the federal project "Export of agricultural products" was discussed. It is planned to allocate over 2025 billion rubles from the federal budget to this direction by 120, which will increase the area of reclaimed land by a quarter, up to 8,75 million hectares.
As noted by Dzhambulat Khatuov, this work will contribute to a multiple increase in crop yields, ensuring the country's food security and increasing the export of agricultural products.
The First Deputy Minister instructed to study the issue of increasing the export potential of agricultural products on the reclaimed lands of the Far Eastern Federal District.
Particular attention should be paid to the production of soy products.
Dzhambulat Khatuov also noted that when introducing new irrigated lands the Ministry of Agriculture needs to provide farmers with high-quality new-generation domestic reclamation equipment. In this regard, the production of Russian sprinkling machines and the replacement of imported equipment is of particular importance.
