In 2019, in the Nizhny Novgorod Region 20 thousand hectares of previously unused land were put into agricultural circulation.
“Every year, agricultural producers in the region return thousands of hectares of fallow lands into circulation. It is necessary to continue this work, since it is aimed at increasing the production of agricultural products. And this is, first of all, ensuring the food security of the region, - emphasized the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Gleb Nikitin. “Of course, the activities related to land clearing are very costly, so it was decided to provide support to farmers in this regard.”
Since 2019, two new areas of state support have begun to operate for agricultural enterprises that will draw on previously unused land. In the first direction, enterprises will be able to receive compensation for part of the costs of cultural and technical measures, which will bring land plots into proper condition for growing crops on them. The second direction is provided for farmers who will put into circulation 300 and more hectares of land. In this case, they will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of purchasing high-performance equipment - tractors, grain or forage harvesters.
A number of agricultural organizations of the region have already been able to take advantage of these supports this year. So, for example, Istok LLC, Balakhninsky District, received compensation for the cost of clearing agricultural land in the amount of 3 million rubles.
“In 2019, we managed to reclaim 200 hectares of arable land. Of course, the costs are high, but we received good support, without which we ourselves would not have mastered this work, ”said Vladimir Gusev, head of the Istok agricultural enterprise. - We plan to continue the measures for putting land into circulation, since we see the effect from them. This year we have already received a good harvest of barley from these lands - about 30 centners per hectare ”.
On December 12, 2019, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, instructed the heads of local self-government in 2020 to take an inventory of agricultural land for which property is not delimited, as well as to intensify work on registering municipal property rights to unclaimed land shares and municipal land control.
