One of the largest producers of potatoes and vegetables in the Novosibirsk region, Dary Ordynska, has joined the national project Labor Productivity. The farm expects to speed up the packaging of vegetables and enter new markets.
OPH "Gifts of Ordynska" is one of the largest vegetable producers in the region; potatoes, cabbage, carrots, beets, grains and legumes are grown on the fields in the Ordynsky district. The annual production output is about 24 thousand tons. Vegetables are supplied to large retail chains in the region and neighboring regions, while potatoes are supplied to PepsiCo, which produces Lay's chips.
In the next six months, the farm will analyze the technological process from the purchase of seeds and fertilizers to the sale of finished products. The introduction of lean production tools and optimization of processes at the enterprise will begin with the sorting and packaging of vegetables. Together with the team of the OPH "Gifts of Ordynska", this will be done by experts from the Regional Competence Center in the field of labor productivity of the Investment Promotion Agency of the NSO.
In order to increase labor productivity, the company plans to reduce the time of washing and packaging products, build a clear system of order fulfillment priority, optimize the loading of warehouses, and competently organize the workspace.
“We want to change: increase productivity, eliminate waste, increase yields, while not overproducing. Of course, it is difficult to participate in the national project when we are in the middle of the season, but this will help us and the RCC experts to see all the losses and optimize our production process. At the same time, we began to develop the infrastructure - we are building new vegetable stores with the expectation of an additional volume of production. We have plans to enter foreign markets,” said Shakir Suleymanov, director of the Dary Ordynsk OPH.
He added that the increase in productivity and the subsequent improvement in the financial condition of the farm will lead to higher wages for workers.
