The benefits of the SEZ in the Kaliningrad region will be used by a full-cycle enterprise for the production of seed potatoes of the highest categories, which Miratorg is equipping in the village of Povarovka.
In 2025, the agro-industrial holding expects to reach a production volume of 1 tons of planting material. Miratorg's investments in the development of its own seed-growing center will amount to about 166 million rubles, and more than 280 new jobs are planned to be created as part of the project.
Over the past few years, this is one of the largest new agro-industrial resident of the Kaliningrad SEZ in terms of investment.
Miratorg grows various varieties of potatoes in the fields in the Tula and Bryansk regions, as well as in the Stavropol Territory. Previously, the company purchased planting material of both foreign and Russian selection, like most other commercial potato producers. Agroholding Miratorg is one of the few who decided to introduce a full cycle of seed production.
The technology of the new production in Povarovka makes it possible to grow any varieties adapted to the soil and climatic characteristics of the regions. Further, Miratorg will send its own seed material to the Bryansk and Tula regions, which traditionally occupy a leading position in terms of industrial potato cultivation.
The Kaliningrad region is one of the key regions where the agricultural holding operates. Here, Miratorg is engaged in the production of frozen semi-finished products and ready meals at the high-tech meat processing plant Miratorg West, develops logistics, transport and distribution companies, and also implements the main stages of the beef cattle breeding project in accordance with interregional specialization.
