Micropropagation is a method of vegetative propagation of plants in culture in vitro. Assumes exclusively jewelry work.
Under sterile conditions, the plant is divided into cuttings with an axillary bud about 1 cm in size, then each cutting is planted in a new container with a nutrient medium, which is previously purified down to water ions.
The method has a number of advantages:
– obtaining genetically homogeneous planting material;
- due to the use of meristem culture, plants are free from viruses;
— high multiplication factor;
– reduction of the duration of the selection process;
– the possibility of carrying out work throughout the year;
Disadvantages of the method:
— complex technological cycle;
— high requirements for personnel qualification;
- high cost of equipment;
- the complexity of the adaptation of clones to natural growing conditions.
