CloudPayments analysts (the service is part of the Cloud group) analyzed the online sales of garden products (seeds and planting material, garden tools and outdoor products) from February 24 to March 14, 2022 and found out how the demand in this product has changed. category compared to the corresponding previous period (February 5-23).
Between February 24 and March 14, online sales of gardening and garden products grew by 41% compared to the corresponding previous period: online transactions increased by 14%, and the average check grew by 27% (from 2 rubles to 296 2 rubles). At the same time, the peak of sales was observed from March 912 to March 8, and the largest online turnover fell on March 11 (online turnover was 10% higher than the average daily indicator in the study period).
During this period, the greatest demand was shown by seeds, fertilizers, as well as garden tools (rakes, shovels, etc.). Seeds of tomatoes, cucumbers, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, herbs and perennial flowers were in the greatest demand. It is worth emphasizing that during the study period, online demand for home and garden products was 24% higher than in the corresponding period last year.
Based on the data obtained, the analysts concluded that Russians consider dachas and household plots not only as a place for recreation and vacations in the near future, but also as a place where they can grow the necessary products.
