On March 10, Potato System magazine invited Russian potato growers to take part in a survey on potato prices. We are grateful to everyone who responded. It is very pleasant that the geography of participants turned out to be quite wide.
Let's summarize the results of the first stage.
According to the data received, in the period from March 10 to March 14, wholesale lots (from 20 tons) of table potatoes in the Russian regions were sold at a price of 25 to 40 rubles/kg.
The lowest prices were observed in the Sverdlovsk region: from 25 to 30 rubles/kg. At the same time, three survey participants sold products of caliber 50+, without comments, and one - 45+, with minor comments (by the way, these potatoes were sold at 28 rubles / kg). All sales were made through intermediaries.
A similar situation was observed in the Omsk region: our reader from this region indicated that he was selling potatoes of caliber 50+ at 30 rubles per kg, but by March 10 the production had already ended.
In the Moscow region, potatoes cost a little more: 32 rubles/kg (caliber 45+, no remarks), deliveries went to retail chains.
In the Yaroslavl region, prices ranged from 33 to 37 rubles / kg (for batches of 50+ caliber products, no remarks). Some of the survey participants sold through intermediaries, while others acted independently.
Potatoes were sold at 35 rubles per kg in the Tver region (caliber 45+, without remarks, sold through an intermediary) and Krasnoyarsk Territory (caliber 45+, with a few remarks, delivery to retail chains).
The highest prices - 40 rubles per kg - were recorded in Novgorod (caliber 50+, products without damage, delivery to retail chains) and Ivanovo regions (caliber 45+, with a few remarks, sale without intermediaries).
We continue to monitor the situation and invite you to participate in the next stage of the survey
We will sum up the results by the end of this week.
