In Yakutsk, a wholesale distribution center was opened on the basis of the Yakutopttorg vegetable store. In a room with an area of more than 4,4 thousand square meters. meters, an expanded range of socially significant goods for the Arctic regions of the republic will be stored, the press service of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reports.
“A modern infrastructure for wholesale and retail trade should be created in all the Arctic regions of Yakutia, this will be an established network for delivering products to every hard-to-reach settlement. The opening of the wholesale distribution center is another step towards our goal,” said the Head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev.
The wholesale and distribution center is organized on the basis of the largest vegetable storehouse in the republic with a capacity of 5000 tons. Reconstruction and modernization work began in stages in 2020.
The center has a 3 ton potato storehouse, 000 ton fruit and vegetable refrigeration chambers, a 75 ton special chamber for storing onions, and chambers for storing perishable foodstuffs. An additional function of the center is the implementation of wholesale and retail sales for residents of the city of Yakutsk.
The Yakutopttorg wholesale distribution center stores the entire volume of an expanded range of socially significant food products, as well as part of the main list of goods to provide Yakutopttorg branches in the regions, including trade and logistics centers in the Arctic.
According to Andrey Tarasenko, the prime minister of the republic, the implementation of the delivery scheme to hard-to-reach settlements, which began last year, will be continued. Aircraft AN-2 are planned to deliver to remote settlements in eight Arctic regions: Ust-Yansky, Eveno-Bytantaisky, Verkhoyansk, Abyisky, Allaikhovsky, Momsky, Nizhnekolymsky and Srednekolymsky.
Starting from June, it is planned to deliver via the Northern Sea Route by Yakutopttorg. Compared to the current railroad delivery scheme, this will significantly reduce costs, which will undoubtedly affect the cost of products in the Arctic and northern regions.
To curb the rise in food prices in the Arctic regions, on behalf of the head of the republic, Aisen Nikolaev, Yakutopttorg trade and logistics centers are being opened. In 2021, centers appeared in the Abyisky and Ust-Yansky districts. In 2022, similar centers will appear in Verkhoyansk, Srednekolymsk, Zhigansk and Nizhnekolymsk districts.
